MSS launches free tech academy to train 100 young Nigerians

As part of activities marking its 20th anniversary, Mobile Screens and Sounds (MSS) has unveiled a new initiative that will provide free technical training to 100 young Nigerians in screen and live event production.

The programme, known as the MSS Event Tech Academy, is a 10-week hybrid training, mentorship, and business programme aimed at equipping participants with practical, industry-relevant skills needed in Nigeria’s technical production sector.

According to a statement issued by the company, the initiative forms part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and reflects MSS’s long-term investment in talent development and the growth of Nigeria’s production industry.

The company explained that the tuition-free academy was established in response to the increasing demand for skilled technical professionals within Nigeria’s expanding creative and live production ecosystem. Participants will receive structured training, expert mentorship, and practical hands-on experience designed to prepare them for careers in the industry.

Speaking on the initiative, Tunbosun Kola-Daisi, Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Screens and Sounds, said:

“For two decades, MSS has powered some of Nigeria’s biggest stages and screens. Now, we’re investing in the people who will power the next two decades.

“The MSS Event Tech Academy is not just about training technicians; it is about building a sustainable pipeline of world-class production professionals who can compete on any stage, anywhere in the world. This is our commitment to the industry that built us and the young people who will shape its future.”

MSS said the academy represents a key milestone in its 20-year anniversary celebrations while reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing the next generation of technical production professionals in Nigeria.
