Nigerian foundation graduates 88 youths, offers support for startups

The Foundation for Human Capacity Development and Innovation has graduated 88 youths in Suleja, Niger State, after training them in digital technology, leadership and character development, with plans to help interested graduates launch businesses and access potential markets.

The initiative aims to prepare participants for employment, entrepreneurship and opportunities in the digital economy by combining technical expertise with personal development.

Training covered cybersecurity and ethical hacking, robotics and embedded programming, data science and analytics, software development, artificial intelligence, 3D and creative design, filmmaking, photography and content creation.

The foundation’s founder and Group Managing Director of Navy Holdings Limited, Abuja, Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim, said the programme was designed to prepare young people for future leadership while instilling discipline, strong character and a commitment to contributing positively to society.

He stressed that the foundation’s engagement with participants would continue after graduation through mentorship and a database used to track their progress.

According to Ibrahim, the organisation maintains contact with graduates, invites them back for progress assessments, identifies their needs and provides assistance where necessary.

The foundation also plans to support graduates who need resources to establish businesses and help them connect with markets for their products and services.

The post-training support is intended to help beneficiaries put their newly acquired skills into practice, build sustainable livelihoods and pursue opportunities in the digital economy.

By combining technical education with mentorship and potential access to business resources and customers, the initiative seeks to help graduates pursue employment, establish enterprises and advance their professional development.
