Anambra launches free computer training for students and youths

The Anambra State Government has announced a free one-month computer training programme aimed at secondary school students and youths across the state.

The initiative, organised under the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, is designed to provide participants with foundational digital skills that can support their education, employment prospects and entrepreneurial activities.

The training is scheduled to commence on August 24, 2026, and will take place three times a week at the Healthy Living Complex, No. 6, Road 13, Udoka Housing Estate, Awka.

According to the organisers, the programme will introduce participants to basic computer operations while helping young people develop the confidence required to function effectively in an increasingly digital economy.

Eligibility is open to secondary school students and other young people in Anambra State who are interested in developing or strengthening their foundational computer skills.

The organisers noted that digital skills are becoming increasingly important as technology continues to influence education, employment, entrepreneurship and everyday activities.

Participants will attend classes three times weekly throughout the one-month training period.

The programme forms part of efforts to expand young people’s access to practical skills and equip them with competencies that could create greater opportunities within the digital economy.

Interested students and youths are required to register through the programme’s online registration portal.

The organisers also urged eligible young people seeking to acquire basic computer skills to take advantage of the free training opportunity.
