OPay has expanded its corporate social responsibility activities to include education, youth development, children’s learning and women’s economic empowerment.
The company’s programmes include the OPay Scholars Programme, National Innovation Challenge, OPay Futures, Play4aChild and the Women Empowerment Programme.
In 2026, OPay expanded its ₦1.2 billion, 10-year scholarship commitment into the OPay Scholars Programme.
According to OPay, the programme brings together three initiatives: its original ₦1.2 billion scholarship commitment, the National Innovation Challenge and OPay Futures.
The company said more than 1,200 people have directly benefited from the Scholars Programme.
The National Innovation Challenge is delivered through a partnership involving OPay, Google and the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent programme.
The initiative is designed to provide young Nigerians with opportunities to develop technology-driven ideas and demonstrate how they can address real-world problems.
OPay’s Play4aChild initiative focuses on younger beneficiaries through the provision of educational materials and other forms of support.
According to the company, the initiative has reached more than 14,000 direct beneficiaries since it began.
OPay’s social investment activities also include its Women Empowerment Programme.
The company said more than 100 women have received support through skills development, capacity building and assistance to start businesses.
The company’s programmes cover education, youth development, children’s learning and women’s empowerment.
OPay’s partnership with Google and the Federal Government’s 3MTT programme forms part of its collaboration with other institutions on youth development and technology-focused initiatives.
The company’s education and youth programmes include scholarships, technology-focused opportunities and skills development, while Play4aChild provides educational materials and other support to children.
Its women’s empowerment programme provides skills development, capacity building and assistance to women seeking to start businesses.
The initiatives form part of OPay’s corporate social responsibility activities in Nigeria.
