JMG Limited has commissioned a state-of-the-art hybrid solar power system at its Victoria Island Branch in Lagos, marking another milestone in the company’s drive to provide dependable, sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions for businesses operating across Nigeria.
The newly deployed installation integrates 66kWp of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) generation, 80kW of hybrid inverter capacity, and 81.92kWh of lithium battery storage into a unified energy platform designed to improve power reliability while substantially reducing reliance on diesel-powered electricity generation.
According to the company, the hybrid solution was engineered using advanced load analysis carried out with Fluke Load Analyser alongside PV system simulation software to optimise performance. The installation is projected to generate approximately 94.8MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying about 80% of the Victoria Island branch’s total energy demand.
In addition to strengthening energy reliability, the project is expected to eliminate the consumption of roughly 28,000 litres of diesel each year. This reduction is estimated to save the company approximately ₦50 million annually in fuel costs while preventing more than 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
The power system features premium technologies, including LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters, and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage, enabling intelligent energy management, uninterrupted backup power and improved long-term operational efficiency.
Speaking on the project, Hussein Abbas, JMG’s Head of Solar Division, stated: “At JMG, we believe the best way to demonstrate confidence in our solutions is to deploy them within our own operations. The Victoria Island Branch now serves as a real-world example of how businesses can improve energy reliability, reduce operating costs and accelerate their sustainability goals through intelligent hybrid power systems.”
JMG said its Victoria Island Branch will also function as a live demonstration facility where customers, consultants and project developers can observe the company’s commercial hybrid solar solutions operating within an active business environment.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting organisations seeking cleaner, smarter and more resilient energy systems by delivering world-class engineering and innovative power technologies that help lower operating costs, improve energy security and contribute to a more sustainable future.
