Applications are now open for the 2nd Edition of the WTO Youth Talent Incubator Programme, a capacity-building and networking initiative aimed at young researchers, academics, government professionals and others working in or interested in the intersection of trade and gender.
The programme is structured around three core pillars: mentoring, capacity building and networking. Through these areas, participants will have opportunities to interact with global experts, WTO Members, policymakers and other international stakeholders.
Selected participants will benefit from mentorship provided by experts in trade and gender, as well as opportunities to undertake applied policy research and participate in training and capacity-building sessions.
The programme will also facilitate professional networking among researchers, policymakers and international stakeholders, while helping participants deepen their understanding of gender-responsive trade policy.
Participants will further gain exposure to WTO Members and global and regional stakeholders, alongside opportunities for collaboration between researchers and policymakers.
The programme is open to applicants aged 20 to 35 years who currently work on trade and gender or can demonstrate an interest in integrating these issues into their professional or research work.
Eligible applicants include young researchers working in academia, think tanks, research foundations, research centres or policy research organisations, as well as young professionals in government.
Applicants are required to submit a motivation letter and complete the online application form. They must also secure formal endorsement from their academic or research institution.
The programme will run from October 12, 2026, to June 30, 2027, and will be conducted 100% virtually. Participation is free of charge, with up to 35 nominees expected to be selected.
The programme operates on a nomination-based model. Academic and research institutions are required to nominate eligible candidates through their legal representatives.
Selected applicants are expected to be notified by October 1, 2026.
