Space42, the UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company, has introduced the Future Spacers Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s talent pipeline and supporting the development of its knowledge economy.

The programme is designed to inspire future generations while helping participants build professional skills relevant to the space and technology industries. It targets Emirati students interested in pursuing careers involving STEM, artificial intelligence, data management and other emerging technologies.

As part of Space42’s commitment to the National Space Strategy 2031, participants will spend up to 16 weeks at Space42 facilities, gaining exposure to the company’s work and developing relevant technical and professional capabilities.

The inaugural cohort was selected from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and Zayed University. Students from schools identified by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) are also part of the first cohort.

The Future Spacers Program is a long-term investment in that capability. By engaging students before they enter the workforce, we can give them the strong foundations from which to contribute to the UAE’s space and AI ecosystem.”

The inaugural 2026 season of the Future Spacers Program followed a student selection process that considered enrolment in relevant STEM fields of study, a minimum GPA requirement and interviews.

Participants will receive both theoretical and practical exposure during the programme. The academic component will examine applications of space-based technology, including the use of artificial intelligence to support extensive data analysis.

Industry specialists will guide the practical component, which is intended to address business and industry challenges. Alongside the technical training, participants will develop workplace and professional skills in problem-solving, collaboration, communication and adaptability.

The programme will end with Space42 certification, which will be recognised by the programme’s partner entities.

Space42 plans to admit future cohorts twice a year, reinforcing its contribution to developing the national workforce through continued engagement with universities and schools.
