The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new technology-driven system that enables candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home, removing the need for routine visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Under the new arrangement, JAMB will verify candidates’ O’Level results directly with the examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), starting with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

In a press statement issued on Monday, Dr Fabian Benjamin, Ag. Director, Public Affairs and Protocol of JAMB, said the initiative was part of the Board’s renewed commitment to making its services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.

Benjamin said the technology-driven process would help reduce unnecessary trips to CBT centres, queues and manual procedures while making candidates’ convenience a central part of JAMB’s service delivery.

He explained that the new system would also tackle several challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, the submission of unverified or fraudulent results, as well as mistakes made when manually entering subjects and grades.

“Through the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, results can now be verified directly against the examination body’s records before being downloaded into the candidate’s profile,” Benjamin said.

At the first stage of the process, candidates are required to visit the designated result verification platform, provide their National Identification Number (NIN) and complete the identity verification process.

They must then indicate the number of sittings and select the relevant examination body or bodies before providing their email address and GSM number.

Following payment through the available payment options, candidates are expected to enter their examination information, including their examination number, examination series and examination year. They can subsequently verify their results and receive a Verification Code.

At the second stage, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by their Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. Their results will then be uploaded, and a notification will be sent to them.

Candidates with two sittings will need to log into their profiles on JAMB’s e-Facility platform and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.” They will then provide their Verification Code, after which their two verified results will be displayed.

Candidates are required to select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects from the displayed results, with no subject selected more than once. They must then click “Apply the O’Level Results” and will receive a notification confirming successful submission, according to the Board.

JAMB also said the verification service would offer candidates a more convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.

The Board said the initiative was in line with the commitment of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to developing a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.

“JAMB will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates,” the statement said.
