Fortis Digital Solutions, a UAE-based technology ecosystem combining POS, payment and business management solutions, has entered into an integration partnership with Paymob, a leading financial services enabler in the MENA region.
The agreement will allow Paymob merchants to install Fortis SmartPOS directly on their Paymob terminals, transforming the devices into a comprehensive point-of-sale solution without requiring them to replace their existing hardware.
Through SmartPOS, merchants will be able to handle order taking, customer profiles, loyalty programmes and daily sales tracking from the same terminal they already use for card and cash acceptance, shift management and reporting.
The integration will also provide merchants with access to Fortis’ cloud platform, giving them real-time visibility into sales, orders and inventory across their businesses. New Paymob customers will be able to activate the feature during onboarding, while existing merchants can have the solution installed remotely by the Fortis team.
The partnership comes amid accelerating digital payment adoption in the UAE, as small and medium-sized enterprises increasingly seek technology solutions that extend beyond payment acceptance. A recent survey found that 92% of UAE SMEs now accept digital payment solutions, highlighting the market’s readiness for tools that support end-to-end business management.
“Many SMEs recognise the value of digitising its operations, but the complexity of adopting new systems can often stand in the way. By bringing Fortis SmartPOS to Paymob devices, we make it easier for merchants to take that step without a complete overhaul of the systems they already rely on. For us, this partnership is about making digital transformation simpler, more accessible and achievable for SMEs.” Said by Sandeep Gomes, Managing Director, Fortis
Paymob provides a comprehensive range of payment acceptance methods across the region, allowing businesses of different sizes to accept payments both online and in-store. The integration with Fortis adds business management capabilities directly to Paymob payment terminals, enabling merchants to manage a wider range of their daily activities through a device they already use.
“Payments are just one part of running a successful business. Merchants already trust Paymob to power their payments, and with Fortis, we’re building on that trust by helping them go beyond acceptance and take greater control of their operations. By bringing sales management, customer insights, and more of the tools they need into one experience, we’re making it easier for merchants to run their businesses, make smarter decisions, and focus on what matters most: their customers.” Said by Nour Abdelmotteleb, Head of partnerships, Paymob
