Ecobank Nigeria has entered into a partnership with AD Consulting to convene prominent Nigerian artists and architects in an initiative focused on advancing the country’s creative economy and safeguarding its cultural heritage and intellectual capital.
The collaboration will culminate in The Convergence: The Iconic Architect & the Icons of Art, which will bring leading figures from both creative disciplines together in Lagos for discussions on Nigerian identity, creativity, ownership and legacy.
The initiative comes at a time of growing interest in protecting Nigeria’s cultural heritage and reinforcing the contribution of creative industries to preserving and transmitting cultural identity, ideas and values to future generations.
Olajumoke Adenowo, Founder of AD Consulting, said architecture and art continue to serve as significant expressions of Nigerian identity, providing avenues for cultural heritage to be preserved and reinterpreted for contemporary audiences.
“Architecture and art are two of the most enduring expressions of who we are as a people. They tell our stories, preserve our heritage and give form to the values we want to pass on to future generations,” Adenowo said.
According to Adenowo, The Convergence will connect the two creative fields while providing room for conversations focused on identity, beauty, ownership and legacy.
She added that the initiative’s NeoHeritage concept would provide a contemporary expression of Nigerian heritage while establishing a connection with future generations.
Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ecobank Nigeria, Austen Osokpor, said the partnership reflects the bank’s interest in promoting African creative excellence and establishing a platform where culture, creativity, private wealth and enterprise meet.
Osokpor noted that Africa’s wealth goes beyond financial resources, pointing to its culture, creativity, intellectual capital and heritage as valuable assets that require preservation and investment.
“Africa’s wealth is not defined by financial capital alone. Our culture, creativity, intellectual capital and heritage are equally important assets that must be preserved, celebrated and passed on to future generations,” Osokpor said.
He said The Convergence would provide a platform for artists, architects, collectors and cultural patrons to establish connections while positioning Nigerian creativity within broader African and global cultural conversations.
“For Ecobank, this is more than an event. It is about creating meaningful platforms that connect people, ideas and opportunities, while reinforcing our commitment to African excellence,” he said.
The partnership reflects the increasing relationship between Nigeria’s creative industries, cultural heritage and enterprise, with artists, architects and other creative professionals playing a growing role in the country’s broader economic and intellectual landscape.
Through The Convergence, Ecobank Nigeria and AD Consulting aim to provide a platform that celebrates established creative voices while fostering discussions on the ownership, preservation and commercial value of Nigeria’s cultural and intellectual assets.
