Dangote Industries Limited has launched a whistleblower programme offering a N500,000 cash reward to members of the public who provide credible information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in illegal haulage operations or the interception of unauthorised goods and passengers transported in Dangote-branded trucks.
The initiative is part of the company’s renewed efforts to safeguard its logistics network and curb the misuse of its vehicles by individuals engaging in unauthorized transportation activities.
In a statement released in Lagos, the company appealed to the public to assist in identifying and reporting suspected cases of illegal haulage involving trucks bearing the Dangote brand.
The management emphasized that vehicles operated by its subsidiaries are designated to transport only approved products and should not be used for any unauthorized cargo or movement of people.
According to the company, Dangote Cement trucks are authorised exclusively to transport cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker.
Similarly, trucks operated by Dangote Sugar Refinery are permitted to carry only sugar products.
The company also clarified that NASCON Allied Industries vehicles are designated for the transportation of Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products, while Dangote Packaging trucks are strictly assigned to move bags and other packaging materials.
For the energy and industrial segments, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are authorised to transport polypropylene products, whereas vehicles belonging to Dangote Fertiliser Limited are approved solely for the haulage of urea fertiliser.
Dangote Industries urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious use of its branded trucks, noting that public cooperation is vital to eliminating illegal haulage and protecting the integrity of the company’s nationwide logistics operations.
