Applications are now open for the 2026 Claude Campus Ambassador Program, a programme by Anthropic aimed at students and researchers interested in advancing AI learning, innovation and research within university communities.

The initiative is designed for undergraduate students, graduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers who want to take leadership roles in developing AI-focused activities on their campuses.

Successful applicants will receive a USD 3,600 cash stipend, Anthropic API credits, access to guest speakers and membership in a global ambassador community.

The programme seeks to support people passionate about artificial intelligence who want to help fellow students and researchers learn, build and explore AI. Participants will work with Anthropic to organise workshops, discussions, practical sessions and other activities focused on AI fluency and responsible experimentation.

It is structured around three initiatives based on participants’ academic levels: Claude Builder Clubs for undergraduate students, Claude Campus Conversations for graduate students, and Claude Science Workshops for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

Undergraduate students selected as ambassadors will lead Claude Builder Clubs on their campuses. Their activities may include technical and non-technical AI workshops, hackathons, demo nights, introductions to AI tools and applications, and the sharing of AI resources and tips with club members. They will also work with Anthropic to develop AI-focused campus communities.

Selected undergraduate ambassadors will receive a USD 3,600 cash stipend.

Graduate students can apply to lead Claude Campus Conversations, where they may facilitate discussions on AI, education and society, create opportunities for students to present their AI projects, support the development of AI fluency and organise events and community activities.

Graduate ambassadors will also have the opportunity to connect with other members of the global ambassador community and, if selected, will receive a USD 3,600 cash stipend.

For PhD students and postdoctoral researchers who use AI in their research, the programme offers the opportunity to lead Claude Science Workshops. Participants may organise AI and science workshops, develop communities of AI-focused researchers and examine how artificial intelligence is transforming scientific research.

They may also engage with Anthropic scientists and research teams and participate in speaker events and other research-focused activities. Selected PhD and postdoctoral ambassadors will receive a USD 3,600 cash stipend.

Beyond the financial support, the programme provides selected Campus Ambassadors with Anthropic API credits and access to Anthropic guest speakers. Participants will join a global ambassador community and gain opportunities to organise AI workshops and events.

The programme also provides hands-on experience in building AI communities, opportunities to connect with students, researchers and AI professionals, and exposure to AI tools, projects and emerging applications.

The 2026 programme will run from September 2026 to June 2027, covering the full academic year.

Applications are being assessed on a rolling basis, making early submission advisable for interested candidates.

The programme is open to applicants from universities around the world. However, graduate and PhD applicants may initially be selected from a smaller group of institutions as part of the programme’s pilot phase.

Eligible applicants include undergraduate students, Master’s and other graduate students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have work authorisation in their country of study.
