FemNest 2.0 opens applications for women innovators in Nigeria

Heels and Tech has opened applications for FemNest 2.0, a five-week venture-building incubator aimed at helping women innovators in Nigeria develop technology-driven solutions to challenges affecting women, children and families.

The programme will combine practical training, expert mentorship and business development support to help participants refine their ideas, test their viability and prepare for potential market entry. Women with early-stage ideas, concepts in development or prototypes are eligible to apply.

Participants will receive guidance from healthcare professionals, product leaders, investors and startup operators. The programme will also provide practical training in artificial intelligence (AI) and no-code tools, enabling participants to develop solutions without requiring advanced software development skills.

The incubator’s business development component will cover customer discovery, business model development and market validation. Participants will also receive guidance on go-to-market strategies, partnership opportunities and investment readiness.

FemNest 2.0 will conclude with a Demo Day and showcase in Lagos, where participants will have the opportunity to present their ventures to investors and other ecosystem partners. Top-performing ventures may also qualify for milestone-based funding.

The programme welcomes innovations addressing a broad range of issues affecting women, children and families. These include women’s health, menstrual health, fertility, maternal care, menopause, breast health, reproductive health, mental health and preventive healthcare.

Other areas of interest include parenting, childcare, elder care, caregiver support, family budgeting, financial wellbeing, family safety, education and community support. Digital health, telehealth, diagnostics and AI-powered healthcare solutions are also among the identified focus areas.

However, applicants whose ideas fall outside these examples may still be considered if their proposed solutions address relevant challenges affecting women and families.

The five-week programme comprises four weeks of virtual learning, followed by a Demo Day and showcase in Lagos. Throughout the incubator, participants will work on developing their ideas, understanding their target users and preparing their solutions for potential entry into the market.

FemNest 2.0 is designed for women innovators in Nigeria and does not require applicants to have professional software development experience. Women interested in using AI and no-code tools to build solutions can also apply, provided their ideas address relevant challenges affecting women, children and families.

Heels and Tech has not specified an application deadline on the official programme page. Interested applicants are therefore advised to check the application webpage for updates before submitting their applications.

Eligible candidates can review the programme details and complete the application process through the official FemNest 2.0 webpage at https://heelsandtech.com/femnest-2-0/.
