Gabon has introduced a new Electronic Document Management (GED) platform as part of a wider effort to modernise public administration, reduce dependence on paper and make government operations more efficient.
The platform was officially launched on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG). The event was attended by Mark-Alexandre Doumba, Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation, and Abdu Razzaq Guy Kambogo, Secretary-General of the Government.
The system was developed with the expertise of the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF). It provides government administrations with a secure electronic environment for registering, classifying, searching, sharing and preserving documents.
By moving document processes away from paper, the platform is intended to improve the monitoring of correspondence and speed up the handling of administrative files.
During the launch, Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki, Director-General of ANINF, demonstrated the platform’s key functions and practical applications.
Under the new system, government employees will be able to find documents more quickly, monitor their progress, send files for validation and retrieve archived records based on their authorised access levels.
The pilot phase involves the SGG and the Directorate-General for Examinations and Competitions (DGEC). The two administrations have different operational needs but both require information to circulate in a structured, secure and efficient manner.
ANINF’s role in the project includes supporting the digitalisation of administrative procedures, strengthening document security, integrating information systems and providing assistance to users.
The initiative is expected to help deliver public services that are faster, more reliable and easier to access.
The launch is also part of Gabon’s broader digital transformation programme. The government is promoting the use of digital technologies to modernise public administration while reinforcing the country’s digital sovereignty.
