Gabon has completed a nine-month cybersecurity training programme designed to strengthen the country’s capacity to detect, analyse and respond to cyber threats.
The programme, which ran from January to September 2026, was delivered by MITRE experts for participants from the Agence Nationale des Infrastructures Numériques et des Fréquences (ANINF) and other government institutions.
Certificates of participation were presented to participants on September 10, 2026, formally marking the conclusion of the training.
The programme centred on the MITRE ATT&CK framework and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI), with participants combining methodological instruction with practical workshops.
Through the training, participants developed skills to assess attackers’ profiles, tactics and behaviour, identify traces left behind following the compromise of systems, and reconstruct how cyberattacks progressed.
The programme also enhanced their ability to recognise the tactics, techniques and procedures employed by attackers within IT environments. According to ANINF, the capabilities acquired through the training will contribute to improved detection, investigation and response to cyber threats.
The certificates were presented by Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki, Managing Director of ANINF, alongside Denise Olsen, a cybersecurity expert and project manager at MITRE.
The initiative is part of a wider cybersecurity partnership between Gabon and the United States, with MITRE providing technical support.
The partnership is focused on reinforcing Gabon’s national cybersecurity and cyber defence capabilities, while supporting the country’s efforts to advance digital sovereignty and safeguard critical infrastructure.
ANINF also said the programme supports the development of national cybersecurity expertise and contributes to Gabon’s broader digital transformation agenda.
