The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) to attract private-sector investment and expand commercial opportunities for Nigerian startups and businesses.
The partnership, announced in a joint statement issued in Abuja on Monday, is designed to connect technology startups with corporate investors, business buyers and financing opportunities to accelerate the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
The statement was signed by NITDA Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs Hadiza Umar, and Dr Segun Olugbile, NACCIMA Digital Economy Coordinator and Chairman of its Digital Economy Trade Group.
Under the arrangement, NACCIMA will serve as a private-sector investment channel and help NITDA-backed startups and technology ventures secure commercial buyers and enterprise financing.
“Under this partnership, NACCIMA serves as an official private-sector investor pipeline.
‘’NACCIMA also serves as commercial off-taker facilitator for NITDA-backed startups, technology ventures, and enterprise financing initiatives.
“The collaboration bridges the gap between government technology supply, innovators, and regulatory frameworks, and real-sector demand.
“This will run across NACCIMA’s nationwide network of over 120 city, state, and bilateral chambers, as well as industrial conglomerates,” it said.
The collaboration will focus on three major initiatives: mobilising private-sector participation in the Digital Nigeria International Conference and Exhibition (DNICE) 2026, establishing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enterprise accelerator, and developing a digital trust mark platform.
DNICE 2026 is scheduled to take place in Abuja from November 10 to November 12. As part of the event, NACCIMA is expected to facilitate business-to-business deal rooms, bring corporate investors and venture capital firms into the process, and introduce indigenous startups to potential buyers.
‘’NACCIMA will also mobilise corporate investors and venture capital firms, and connect indigenous startups with potential buyers, ‘’ it said.
NITDA Director-General Kashifu Inuwa said the partnership would help local startups progress beyond developing technology solutions by gaining access to corporate customers, domestic investment and sustainable commercial contracts.
NACCIMA National President Jani Ibrahim said the association was committed to linking established industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, trade and mining, with innovative digital solutions.
‘’The collaboration will also leverage technical talent under the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent programme to improve enterprise productivity and build a resilient economy, ‘’ Ibrahim said.
To coordinate implementation, the two organisations have established a Joint Technical Working Group. The committee will be co-chaired by NITDA Director of Special Duties, Dr Aristotle Onumo, and NACCIMA National Digital Economy Coordinator.
