Applications are now open for the Green Africa Associates SDGs Innovations Fellowship 2026, a programme designed to support young Africans developing innovative solutions that can contribute to achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The fellowship is seeking young people with ideas or solutions capable of tackling social, economic and environmental challenges across Africa. Its focus areas include innovation, green entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old and must be citizens of an African country. They should demonstrate an interest in innovation and problem-solving, as well as a passion for green entrepreneurship and sustainability.

Candidates are also expected to be committed to advancing the SDGs within their communities or sectors and must have an innovative idea, project or solution capable of generating meaningful impact.

The fellowship is open to people from different academic, professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds. Eligible participants may include young professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and academics.

Successful fellows will receive access to mentorship and networking opportunities, capacity-building and training programmes, as well as acceleration and incubation support.

The programme will also provide participants with a community of young innovators and changemakers, alongside opportunities to engage with experts, entrepreneurs and sustainability practitioners.

Fellows will receive support to refine and further develop their innovative ideas. They will also have the opportunity to progress to a subsequent phase focused on implementing the innovative ideas and solutions developed through the fellowship.

The fellowship supports solutions addressing one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Areas covered include climate action, clean energy, quality education, decent work and economic growth, gender equality, sustainable cities, environmental sustainability, poverty reduction, social innovation and green entrepreneurship.
