The Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) has begun profiling and screening applicants for its Technical Skills Acquisition Programme at the Lamurde Local Government Secretariat in Adamawa State.
The exercise, which started on Monday, is focused on identifying eligible beneficiaries for practical training intended to promote self-reliance, employment and sustainable livelihoods.
As part of the process, officials are compiling and verifying applicants’ details, assessing their eligibility and administering a qualifying entrance examination to those who meet the stipulated requirements.
Applicants who successfully complete the selection process will receive admission letters to commence training at designated and approved centres.
The programme is open to individuals aged 18 to 40 who have basic literacy skills and an interest in acquiring practical and marketable technical skills.
Profiling and screening will run until Friday, October 9, 2026, with the entrance examination scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The initiative is part of the Adamawa State Government’s broader efforts to alleviate poverty and promote wealth creation under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Through the programme, PAWECA seeks to provide beneficiaries with vocational skills that can help them establish businesses, obtain employment and contribute to the local economy.
The agency urged applicants to cooperate with officials during the exercise, provide accurate information and follow all guidelines governing the screening and examination processes.
