MediaTech Hub opens applications for 2026 media tech accelerator

Applications are now open for the MediaTech Hub (MTH) Accelerator 2026, a startup programme for early-stage companies developing technologies that are changing how media is produced, distributed or experienced.

The accelerator connects participating media technology startups with the media industry in Babelsberg, as well as mentors, technology partners, investors, research institutions and other resources aimed at helping founders develop market-ready business models.

The 2026 programme offers two pathways for participating startups.

The first, Bootstrap Seedstrap, is intended for founders seeking to build and expand their businesses independently and sustainably without the immediate pressure of securing external financing.

The second, Investment Readiness, is designed for startups preparing for a funding round. Participants on this pathway can work on their pitch and financial planning while developing connections with potential investors.

To qualify, applicants must be early-stage media technology startups developing technology that changes how media is produced, distributed or experienced. Companies must also be based and operating in Germany.

Selected startups will have access to personalised mentoring and counselling focused on business models, strategy and growth. They will also be connected to media companies, studios and technology partners within the Babelsberg ecosystem.

Other benefits include office and coworking space within the MediaTech Hub ecosystem, as well as investor and partner networks that can provide opportunities for capital, clients and partnerships.

Participants will also have opportunities to gain visibility through MTH events, international trade shows and startup spotlights. The programme further provides research connections with local universities and research institutions.

The application process begins with the submission of an online application form and pitch deck. Shortlisted applicants will subsequently meet with the accelerator team for an interview.

Applicants are expected to receive feedback on the outcome within four weeks of the application deadline. Selected startups will then complete onboarding before beginning the accelerator programme.

Interested companies can submit their applications through the official MTH application portal.
