FirstBank of Nigeria Limited will hold the fifth edition of its Agric and Export Expo on September 16 and 17, 2026, as stakeholders in Nigeria’s agriculture and export sectors gather to examine strategies for expanding agribusinesses into international markets.
The two-day expo, themed “From Farm to Global Markets: Building Nigeria’s Export Value Chain,” will take place at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. It is expected to attract policymakers, regulators, agribusiness executives, exporters, investors, development partners and other key participants.
The event will focus on the opportunities and challenges shaping Nigeria’s agricultural export sector, with discussions expected to cover financing, market access, technology, productivity and policies required to make locally produced agricultural goods more competitive in global markets.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, is expected to deliver the keynote address. He is also expected to participate in discussions centred on increasing agricultural productivity and strengthening Nigeria’s food systems.
Five state governors are also expected to attend the event as special guests. They are Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State, Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
The expo will feature prominent industry figures, including Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited; Taiwo Ayoade, Deputy Managing Director of Agro Traders Limited and Plantation Industries Limited; Sunil Kumar Chauhan, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Fertiliser Limited; and Ayodele Abioye, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of BUA Foods Plc.
Participants will examine emerging trends and market opportunities capable of helping Nigerian agricultural businesses scale production, enhance product quality and gain access to international markets.
Access to finance is expected to receive significant attention at the conference, given the importance of affordable capital to businesses seeking to expand production, satisfy export requirements and increase operational capacity.
The discussions will also consider technology-led innovations and policy interventions that could strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural and non-oil export sectors.
Another area of focus will be improving connections among farmers, processors, exporters, investors and other stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.
For small and growing agribusinesses, stronger value-chain relationships could create opportunities to reach new markets, secure investment, gain technical expertise and obtain financing required to move beyond domestic sales and participate more effectively in international trade.
The expo is part of broader efforts to promote an export-focused agricultural sector in Nigeria and identify practical approaches for taking agricultural products from production through processing and ultimately into global markets.
