The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) has opened applications for the second cohort of its Entrepreneurship Training Programme, which provides free online business training for entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners in North-West Nigeria.

The initiative aims to strengthen participants’ business management capabilities and support the growth of their enterprises through practical training in business operations, financial management, marketing and business expansion.

Available Courses

The programme offers training across 11 business-related areas, covering essential skills for managing and developing small enterprises. Available courses include:

  • Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Credit Management and Access to Finance

  • Marketing and Sales Techniques

  • Sustainability for Small Businesses

  • Business Scaling and Exporting

  • Business Branding and Communications

  • Women’s Entrepreneurship Mindset Toolkit

  • Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) for MSMEs

Participants are required to complete a minimum of four mandatory courses to meet the programme’s training requirements.

Programme Benefits

Enrolled participants will receive free online entrepreneurship training and practical knowledge to improve their business management skills. The programme also provides the flexibility to learn remotely from home or the office.

Additionally, participants may be considered for selection into a physical workshop, where opportunities will be available to pitch business ideas and compete for grants.

However, DBN has clarified that completing the online training does not automatically qualify participants for the physical workshop or guarantee that they will receive a grant.

Eligibility Requirements

The training programme is open to entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners in North-West Nigeria who want to develop their business management skills and improve their enterprises.

Applicants must also have access to the internet to participate in and complete the online courses.

How to Apply

Interested applicants can register for Cohort 2 by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official DBN learning platform at https://learning.devbankng.com/R2M.

  2. Register for Cohort 2 of the Entrepreneurship Training Programme.

  3. Enter the affiliate code R2M where requested during registration.

  4. Explore the available courses and complete at least four mandatory courses.

  5. Monitor DBN announcements for updates on selection into the physical workshop and subsequent grant-pitching opportunities.

The programme provides entrepreneurs in North-West Nigeria with an opportunity to access business development training at no cost while gaining practical knowledge to strengthen their enterprises.
