CINET and Google Cloud partner to reshape Kuwait’s credit sector

The Kuwait Credit Information Network Company (CINET), Kuwait’s leading and sole provider of credit information and credit scorings, has announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud in a move set to significantly transform the country’s financial infrastructure.

The initiative represents more than a migration of existing systems to cloud computing. It marks a broader change in the way value is generated across Kuwait’s credit ecosystem, moving beyond the traditional credit bureau model toward an integrated approach centred on data, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.

Through the adoption of Google Cloud technologies at scale, CINET is building a flexible and scalable digital architecture designed to manage the growing complexities of financial markets while enabling a faster response to changing regulatory requirements.

CINET is also among the first entities in Kuwait’s financial sector to adopt Google Cloud at this level of integration, reinforcing its position as a key contributor to the transformation of the country’s financial infrastructure.

“This collaboration represents a structural transformation in how data is utilized within the credit ecosystem in Kuwait, as we move from a traditional model to an operational model driven by data and advanced analytics. The company is placing particular emphasis on strengthening its technological capabilities through investment in advanced digital systems and the development of expertise in data science and artificial intelligence, in line with its vision to become Kuwait’s leading data hub.”

Mrs. Mai Bader AlOwaish, Chief Executive Officer, CINET

Meshari AlMohammad, Chief Information Technology Officer at CINET, said the collaboration would have a significant impact on the organisation’s operational systems and credit applications.

“The adoption of Google technologies enables the re-engineering of operational systems and marks a transformative leap in credit applications, with a strong focus on automation, the enablement of more advanced models, and data analysis across various sectors. This transformation empowers us to enhance the efficiency of credit assessments and further develop credit services, while maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.”

Mrs. Shaymaa Nabeel Alterkait, General Manager, Google, said the partnership demonstrates how cloud technology can contribute to the restructuring of digital infrastructure across the financial sector.

“This collaboration reflects the advanced capabilities of cloud technologies in reshaping the digital infrastructure of the financial sector. Google Cloud enables organizations to build data-driven architectures powered by advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, allowing for large-scale, near real-time data processing. We also provide a secure and flexible cloud environment built on the highest standards of cybersecurity and compliance, enabling organizations to accelerate innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and respond effectively to evolving market demands.”

The development comes as data assumes a growing strategic role within financial services. Competitive advantage is increasingly linked not simply to access to information, but to the capacity to analyse and use that information effectively.

Against this backdrop, CINET is positioned to drive the shift while remaining aligned with high standards of data governance and the requirements of the Central Bank of Kuwait.

The initiative also forms part of a wider movement toward a more integrated digital economy. CINET is continuing efforts to strengthen its digital channels, expand digital credit enablement and improve customer experience through a modern operating model focused on innovation and the broader use of data.
