Cardtonic opens upskill 4.0 programme with MacBook prizes, tech scholarships for youths in Africa

Applications are now open for the Cardtonic Upskill 4.0 Programme 2026, an initiative aimed at equipping young technology enthusiasts in Nigeria and Ghana with premium learning opportunities, career development support and access to advanced technology.

The 2026 edition will award 25 MacBook Pro (M5) laptops to exceptional tech talents while introducing a fully funded AltSchool Africa Diploma Scholarship alongside ₦250,000 financial support for selected beginners seeking to build careers in technology.

Programme tracks

The programme features two application tracks designed to cater to participants at different stages of their technology careers.

MacBook Track

The MacBook Track targets applicants with an existing portfolio or demonstrable experience in their chosen field.

Successful participants will compete for one of the 25 MacBook Pro (M5) laptops.

Eligible categories include:

  • Content Creation
  • Product Design (UI/UX, Graphics & Motion Design)
  • Software Engineering
  • Data Science & AI Engineering
  • Product Management
  • Cybersecurity

Scholarship Track

The Scholarship Track is designed for beginners looking to start a career in technology.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • A fully funded AltSchool Africa Diploma Scholarship
  • ₦250,000 cash support
  • Structured training and mentorship
  • Access to quality technology education

Available learning paths include:

  • Software Engineering
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Science
  • Product Management

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be under 30 years old
  • Be citizens of Nigeria or Ghana
  • Demonstrate a strong passion for technology or content creation
  • Have a portfolio or body of work relevant to their chosen field for the MacBook Track
