BUA Cement has provided N1.5 million in financial assistance to each family affected by a fatal road accident in Tambuwal, following a crash that reportedly involved a commercial minibus carrying 13 passengers and a truck belonging to the company.
Eight people, including a child, reportedly lost their lives in the accident.
The company’s management visited the bereaved families in Tambuwal to deliver the financial support. The delegation was accompanied by the District Head of Tambuwal, Alhaji Ahmad Dahiru, and the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Hon. Abba Shehu Tambuwal.
Both community leaders commended the intervention, describing it as a meaningful act of compassion towards families grieving the loss of their loved ones.
They expressed gratitude to BUA Cement for providing the assistance despite reports indicating that the company’s truck was not responsible for the accident.
The leaders also highlighted the importance of corporate social responsibility, calling on other organisations to extend support to communities affected by tragic incidents.
While acknowledging that financial assistance could not bring back those who died, they said the donation could help the affected families manage some of the immediate financial challenges arising from their losses.
They prayed for Allah to reward the company for its generosity, grant eternal rest to the deceased and give their families the strength and patience to endure their loss.
