Applications are now open for the Women Entrepreneurs Development Programme (WEDP) 3.0, a three-day bootcamp aimed at helping young women in Lagos build, grow and sustain businesses within the creative industry.
The programme is designed for young women who are developing careers or businesses in the creative sector and want to strengthen their skills, business knowledge and access to support that can help take their ventures to the next level.
WEDP 3.0 is built around the understanding that creative talent alone may not be enough to establish a successful business. Participants also require entrepreneurial knowledge, financial literacy, strategic thinking, market access, mentorship and the confidence to transform creative ideas into sustainable ventures.
The programme seeks to address the difficulties many talented women face when trying to convert their creative skills and ideas into profitable and sustainable businesses.
Through practical learning and mentorship, participants are expected to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to make stronger business decisions, effectively position their brands and recognise opportunities for expansion within the creative economy.
Selected participants will have the opportunity to build practical entrepreneurial and business management skills, while learning how to transform creative ideas and skills into sustainable business opportunities.
They will also gain insights into developing and positioning a strong creative brand, strengthen their financial and business decision-making abilities, and learn strategies for growing and sustaining a creative enterprise.
The bootcamp will further provide opportunities for participants to connect with mentors and other young women entrepreneurs in the creative industry, expand their professional networks and establish meaningful connections.
Participants will also gain practical knowledge that can be applied directly to their businesses and careers, as well as develop the confidence to identify and pursue new opportunities within the creative economy.
The opportunity is open to young women aged 18–35 who are entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs in the creative industry.
Creative professionals seeking to commercialise or grow their skills, women building or developing creative businesses, and those interested in gaining practical entrepreneurship and business development skills are also eligible to apply.
Applicants must be residents of Lagos.
Whether an applicant is already running a creative business or has a creative skill or idea that they want to develop into a viable venture, WEDP 3.0 offers an opportunity to learn, build connections and grow.
The programme emphasises that creativity can become more than a talent when supported by the right business knowledge, strategy and networks. It can serve as a sustainable source of income while also creating opportunities for others.
WEDP 3.0 therefore provides young women in the creative industry with an avenue to gain the tools, knowledge and connections required to move from possessing a creative skill to building a sustainable creative enterprise.
Applications are currently open for interested and eligible candidates.
Interested applicants can access the Application Form.
