Alveum, MALhub train 15 young Kwara talents in software development, digital skills programmes.

Fifteen young technology enthusiasts in Kwara State have completed an intensive training programme focused on software development and practical digital skills through the Alveum and MALhub Tech Talent Scholarship Programme.

The fully sponsored programme, held in Ilorin, was designed for promising young people between the ages of nine and 20. Participants received hands-on technical training alongside problem-solving skills, project-based learning experience and exposure to modern technology workflows.

Chief Operating Officer of Alveum, Abdul Ibiyeye, said the initiative represents a deliberate effort to identify and develop young talent, rather than serving solely as a corporate social responsibility project. He also reaffirmed Alveum’s commitment to establishing clear pathways through which young learners can progress into meaningful roles within the technology industry.

Alveum’s Chief Technology Officer, Habeeb Salaudeen, similarly commended the participants for their progress during the programme. He disclosed that plans were in place to provide internship placements for outstanding beneficiaries, giving them an opportunity to gain real-world experience by working on active technology projects.

Kamaldeen Kehinde, Co-founder of MALhub, stressed the importance of sustained mentorship, regular practice and strong connections with industry in efforts to bridge the divide between technology education and practical opportunities.

According to Kehinde, the strength of the partnership is reflected in its effort to help beneficiaries see technology not only as a field of study but also as a means of developing sustainable solutions and businesses.

He added that the initiative is ultimately aimed at developing a strong technology talent pipeline in Kwara State that can contribute to Nigeria’s wider digital economy.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the opportunity, describing the training as a catalyst for their long-term development and prospective careers in the global technology sector.
