First City Monument Bank (FCMB) is set to bring together healthcare providers, investors, financiers, policymakers, development partners and industry experts at its inaugural Healthcare Summit on July 28, 2026, as stakeholders seek practical solutions to financing challenges confronting Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
According to a statement issued by the bank on Wednesday, the summit is themed “Financing Growth: Unlocking Opportunity, Building the Future of Healthcare.” The event will focus on healthcare financing, investment opportunities and strategic partnerships, with discussions aimed at improving access to capital while supporting sustainable growth across the industry.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr Iziaq Salako, is expected to deliver the keynote address titled “The Future of Healthcare Financing in Nigeria,” where he will outline financing priorities and healthcare delivery strategies shaping the country’s health sector.
Participants will engage in keynote presentations, executive conversations and panel discussions covering key issues, including access to capital, investment readiness, governance, partnerships and strategies for building sustainable healthcare businesses.
Ahead of the summit, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First City Monument Bank, Yemisi Edun, underscored the importance of a collaborative approach to strengthening healthcare in Nigeria.
“A resilient healthcare system is fundamental to the wellbeing and productivity of every nation. At FCMB, we recognise that sustainable healthcare delivery requires more than clinical excellence. It also depends on access to appropriate financing, sound business management, strategic partnerships and long-term investment.
“The FCMB Healthcare Summit will bring key stakeholders together to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and identify practical approaches that can help healthcare businesses grow sustainably and improve healthcare outcomes for Nigerians,” she said.
Edun further stated that FCMB remains committed to supporting healthcare providers through financial solutions designed to expand infrastructure, acquire modern medical equipment, strengthen working capital and improve operational efficiency.
The bank noted that Nigeria’s healthcare sector continues to grapple with significant challenges, including infrastructure deficits, increasing operating costs, foreign exchange pressures, workforce shortages, governance concerns, limited investment readiness and restricted access to capital.
According to FCMB, overcoming these obstacles will require sustained collaboration among healthcare providers, financial institutions, government agencies, investors and development partners.
The summit is expected to serve as a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore investment opportunities and identify practical measures for strengthening healthcare delivery across the country.
During a dedicated session titled “Financing Healthcare Growth,” FCMB will showcase its healthcare-focused financial solutions, highlighting funding opportunities for infrastructure expansion, equipment acquisition, working capital, digital transformation and long-term business growth.
The President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, Mrs Njide Ndili, will deliver an industry address titled “Building a Stronger Private Healthcare Sector: Leadership, Collaboration and Sustainable Financing for the Future.”
Additional sessions will feature panel discussions on “Unlocking Capital, Partnerships and Sustainable Growth in Nigeria’s Healthcare Sector” and “From Survival to Scale: Building Bankable Healthcare Businesses in Nigeria.” An executive conversation titled “Building Healthcare Businesses That Attract Capital” will also examine leadership, governance, investment readiness and strategies for sustainable business growth.
FCMB disclosed that the Health Business Academy for Africa will serve as the technical partner for the summit, providing industry expertise and strategic support. The organisation specialises in executive education and strategic advisory services for healthcare institutions across Africa.
