SMEDAN offers ₦50,000 grant to nano businesses across Nigeria

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) is offering a ₦50,000 conditional grant to eligible nano businesses to support their operations, equipment purchases and job creation.

The initiative, known as the Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS), aims to strengthen small enterprises at the grassroots level by providing financial assistance to improve productivity and sustain business activities.

The grant is non-repayable but comes with a key condition: beneficiaries must employ at least one additional person to qualify for the support.

According to the programme details, the scheme targets nano businesses operating at the Local Government Area level across Nigeria. Its objectives include supporting business workforces, helping owners acquire essential equipment, improving business performance and creating employment opportunities within communities.

Successful applicants may receive ₦50,000 to support daily operations, purchase necessary equipment, improve productivity and competitiveness, and expand their workforce.

Interested business owners should be prepared to provide accurate personal and business information and meet the programme’s applicable requirements.

How to apply

Applicants can visit the official SMEDAN Conditional Grant Scheme portal at https://smedan.gov.ng/our-programs/cgs/ and select Register Interest. They should follow the instructions on the portal, submit the requested information and monitor SMEDAN’s official communication channels for updates on verification and subsequent steps.

SMEDAN has not specified an application deadline on the official programme page. Interested businesses should check the portal for current registration status and applicable requirements before applying.
