Several United Nations Youth Office Vacancies are open for application (Open to all nationalities)

In September 2022, following a recommendation in the Secretary-General’s “Our Common Agenda” report (A/75/982), Member States unanimously agreed to the establishment of the United Nations Youth Office as a dedicated office for youth affairs in the Secretariat (A/R/76/306), integrating the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth. The office will lead engagement and advocacy for the advancement of youth issues across the United Nations, in the areas of peace and security, sustainable development and human rights.

Recruitment for the Youth Office’s regular budget posts is ongoing, taking due consideration of age, gender and geographic representation requirements. Please see below an overview of current job openings.

Programme Management Officer (P3)

This position is located in the United Nations Youth Office. This newly established entity leads engagement and advocacy for the advancement of youth issues across the United Nations, in the areas of peace and security, sustainable development and human rights. The Programme Officer reports to the Chief of Section, UN System Coordination and Accountability and works under overall guidance of the Assistant Secretary-General on Youth Affairs. Working across sustainable development, peace and security and human rights the incumbent will provide support on the functions under the responsibility of the UN System Coordination and Accountability Section of the UN Youth Office, as outlined in the General Assembly resolution 76/306.

Programme Management Officer (P3)

Programme Management Officer, Youth Engagement (P3)

This position is located in the United Nations Youth Office. This newly established entity leads engagement and advocacy for the advancement of youth issues across the United Nations, in the areas of peace and security, sustainable development and human rights. The focus of this position is the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and approaches that foster meaningful youth engagement across all pillars of the United Nations work.

The Programme Officer, Youth Engagement reports to the Chief of Section, Partnership, Advocacy, and Communication and works under overall guidance by the Assistant Secretary-General on Youth Affairs.

Administrative Officer (P3)

This position is located in the United Nations Youth Office. The Administrative Officer reports directly to the Chief of Staff and works in close collaboration with the Executive Office and under the overall guidance of the Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs.
