FNB Engineering & Technology graduate programme 2026/2027 opens for engineering IT graduates

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026/2027 FNB Engineering & Technology Graduate Programme, providing engineering and IT/Computer Science graduates with an opportunity to begin their careers through permanent roles within the banking sector.

The application window will remain open until August 31, 2026.

The programme is designed for graduates who are eager to contribute to technology-driven innovation within FNB’s retail and commercial banking operations. Successful applicants will be placed in permanent positions across specific business units where they will help design, develop, test, implement, and manage end-to-end technology solutions.

According to FNB, participants will work on projects spanning architectural design, software development, systems implementation, testing, and systems environment management. Their work is expected to support business operations, improve banking services, and enhance customer experiences while contributing to the organisation’s culture, operational efficiency, and business relationships.

Beyond their day-to-day responsibilities, graduates will be employed in full-time roles while participating in monthly training sessions and an action learning project as part of the graduate development programme.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants interested in the programme must meet the following requirements:

  • Have strong academic results, with an academic transcript required as part of the application.
  • Be currently completing the final year of a relevant university programme, particularly in engineering, technology, or IT/Computer Science.
  • Demonstrate strong coding aptitude alongside analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities

Graduates selected for the programme will be expected to:

  • Deliver exceptional service by actively listening to internal customer needs and creating innovative solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Support team performance by completing assigned tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate records, planning effectively, and updating relevant information promptly.
  • Participate in the organisation’s innovation initiatives through brainstorming sessions, idea generation, and collaboration on creative business solutions.
  • Expand their professional knowledge by taking part in knowledge-sharing initiatives, contributing to projects, and participating in training opportunities to stay current with industry developments.
  • Drive their own personal and professional development by completing training assignments, attending workshops and seminars, and continuously building competencies aligned with the company’s values and long-term career growth.

Interested candidates can obtain additional details and submit their applications through the official FNB Engineering & Technology Graduate Programme webpage before the August 31, 2026 deadline.
