Fast Forward opens 2027 accelerator applications for tech nonprofits, offering $25,000+ funding

Applications are now open for the Fast Forward Accelerator 2027, a three-month programme aimed at helping early-stage technology and AI-powered nonprofits develop solutions to major social challenges.

The accelerator will provide selected organisations with $25,000+ in unrestricted funding, alongside expert mentorship, fundraising assistance and access to a global network of technology nonprofit leaders, funders and industry experts.

Beyond financial support, participating organisations will receive guidance on product development, go-to-market strategy and scaling. The programme also covers nonprofit management areas such as impact measurement, board development and volunteer management.

Fast Forward will further connect participants to its network of tech nonprofits, funders and industry professionals, while offering continued assistance through its portfolio services after the accelerator ends.

The programme is specifically targeted at early-stage tech and AI-powered nonprofits. Applicants must operate under a nonprofit business model and already have a minimum viable product (MVP) built.

Fast Forward will also assess applicants based on leadership and founder experience, access to mission-driven technology talent, potential for significant social impact, the scalability of their technology or software solution, lived experience of the problem they are addressing, and how closely their work aligns with Fast Forward’s expertise and network.

The accelerator combines technology development with nonprofit management, providing participants with support across product development, go-to-market strategy, scaling, fundraising, board development, impact measurement, volunteer management and the development of sustainable nonprofit organisations.

The 2027 Accelerator is scheduled to run from late February to early June 2027, while Demo Days are planned for late May to early June 2027.

The programme is intensive, requiring participants to attend sessions twice each week in addition to other weekly commitments.

The application process opened on August 17, 2026. Applicants must submit their applications by September 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Interviews are scheduled to take place between October and December 2026, with final notifications expected by the end of 2026. The accelerator will then run from late February through early June 2027, followed by Demo Days from late May to early June.

Fast Forward’s programme is designed specifically for founders developing technology-based nonprofit solutions, rather than conventional for-profit startups. Its model combines unrestricted capital with technical assistance, fundraising support and organisational development.

According to Fast Forward, the organisation has supported more than 100 tech nonprofits since 2014. Its portfolio organisations have collectively raised $1.4 billion in follow-on funding.

Interested technology nonprofit founders can review the eligibility requirements and apply through the official Fast Forward Accelerator website.
