Ecobank Nigeria launches ‘Scaling Up!!!’ podcast to empower African entrepreneurs through stories

Ecobank Nigeria has introduced ‘Scaling Up!!!’, a flagship business storytelling podcast aimed at inspiring, educating, and empowering entrepreneurs, founders, and the next generation of African innovators through authentic conversations with accomplished business leaders from across the continent.

The initiative, unveiled on Wednesday, underscores the bank’s commitment to supporting enterprise development beyond conventional banking services by providing an interactive platform where emerging and established entrepreneurs can exchange knowledge and learn from real business experiences.

According to a statement by the bank, the podcast is designed to reinforce Ecobank Nigeria’s broader strategy of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable economic development across Africa.

Speaking on the initiative, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Ecobank Nigeria, Austen Osokpor, said:

“Scaling Up!!! reflects Ecobank’s belief that empowering entrepreneurs goes beyond providing financial solutions.

“Through authentic storytelling and insightful conversations, we are creating a platform where business owners can learn directly from people who have successfully navigated the realities of building sustainable enterprises. It is another way we are reinforcing our commitment to driving entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic growth across Africa.”

Ecobank also highlighted the importance of peer-to-peer learning for small and medium-scale enterprises, noting that firsthand experiences from successful founders can help business owners tackle operational challenges common across African markets.

The Head of SMEs, Partnerships and Collaborations at Ecobank Nigeria, Omoboye Odu, said:

“Entrepreneurs learn best from the experiences of those who have walked the journey before them.

“Scaling Up!!! provides practical insights, inspiration, and valuable lessons that will help founders make better business decisions, overcome challenges, and unlock new growth opportunities, further strengthening Ecobank’s role as a trusted partner supporting SMEs at every stage of their journey.”

Providing insight into the production approach, the media team behind the series explained that every episode explores the resilience, setbacks, and strategic decisions that shape business success in competitive industries.

Producer of Scaling Up!!!, Jemimah Ugiagbe, said:

“Our goal was to create more than just another business podcast.

“We wanted honest, engaging, and relatable conversations that reveal the realities behind success, the setbacks, the resilience, the bold decisions, and the lessons that every entrepreneur can learn from, ensuring every episode leaves listeners informed, inspired, and motivated to build businesses that create lasting impact.”

The inaugural season is available on Ecobank Nigeria’s official YouTube channel and other major digital streaming platforms. It features conversations with a diverse lineup of accomplished personalities, including filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, music producer ID Cabasa, beauty entrepreneur Adeola Adeyemi, luxury fashion designer Ejiro Amos Tafiri, commercial photographer Emmanuel Oyeleke, interior designer Adewunmi Adegbola, and creative entrepreneur Richard Vedelago.

Targeted at startups, creatives, young professionals, and corporate executives, the podcast forms part of Ecobank Nigeria’s broader vision of using digital platforms to advance sustainable economic growth while strengthening pan-African trade capabilities.
