Rotary Club gives scholarships to 100 indigent students

Rotary Club of Abuja, Gwarinpa has given scholarships to 100 indigent students in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This is part of the club’s N11.8 million projects for the 2023/2024 year, which will see to the renovation of dilapidated classrooms at Government Secondary School, Gwarinpa among other projects.

The club president, Adebanke Aderogba, said this gesture is part of the history of Rotary Club and in addition to the scholarships, 100 students would also get school bags.

She also noted that the club would be donating maternal and nursing kits to indigent women in Gwarinpa in addition to treatment of pregnant and nursing mothers against prenatal and postnatal diseases and economic empowerment.

At her investiture as the 15th president of the Rotary Club of Abuja, Gwarinpa and fund-raising for the projects, Aderogba said other projects to be carried out by the club include the vaccination against Hepatitis B & C, free testing, awareness and counselling against HIV/AIDS among others.

She also stated that as a club, they carry out needs assessment in schools, community around them and decide where to come in to assist both the people and the government.
