In a remarkable display of endurance, passion, and creativity, Olamide Oladipo-Ibikunle, a native of Oluyole Local Government Area, Oyo State, and a resident of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is on the brink of history.
Olamide is vying for the Guinness World Record in a 100-hour Sew-A-Thon, an extraordinary feat of dedication and skill.
The challenge which began on Tuesday, 3rd December 2024, at exactly 11:20 PM, when Olamide embarked on her mission to sew continuously for 100 hours, climaxed on Sunday, 8th December, 2024, at 3:20 AM.
This was aimed at marking an incredible milestone in her sewing career.
From stitching intricate patterns to creating unique designs, Olamide has shown not only the depth of her talent but also her determination to inspire others with her craft.
Throughout this tasking marathon, she has garnered immense support from fans, well-wishers, and fellow creatives who recognize the dedication required to achieve such a monumental goal.
According to Olamide, this challenge is not only to push her to the unimaginable but also to awaken the giants within individuals who set goals.
“I have just experienced that indeed I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. There’s really a lot we can do with our lives. Whatever idea we can conceive can be achieved. I was told it’s impossible with only needle and thread but I have just made it known that it is very possible.
“The same person who told me “it’s impossible” just told me “I have learnt”,she enthused.
“I won’t stop at this, I will keep doing things to remind individuals in Nigeria and nations of the world to rise to every challenge. awakening the giant within us is the goal. stop sleeping!”, Olamide said.
Olamide stayed focused and determined till her completion of the feat. Her effort is a testament to the resilience and creativity that define Nigerian talents on a global scale.
This is more than a personal achievement—it’s a moment of pride for her community, her state, and her country as she stitches her name into the Guinness World Records.
