Do Good Charity ups efforts in building resilient communities with kindness

Do Good Charity Initiative, in collaboration with several partner organizations, marked the 2025 Good Deeds Day with a heartwarming outreach to the Precious Seed Slum, Oworonshoki Community in Lagos State.

The partners took up the initiative, in alignment with the theme of 2025 Good Deeds Day: “Building Resilient Communities of Good Deeds for National Development”, as a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful.

In an address during the outreach, the Country Lead for Good Deeds Day Nigeria, Bamidele Adetola, expressed deep admiration for the dedication of those working to foster resilient communities through acts of kindness.

He described their commitment as “truly inspiring” and emphasized the honor of collaborating with such passionate individuals.

Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Building Resilient Communities of Good Deeds for National Development,” Bamidele highlighted that even the smallest acts of kindness, volunteerism, and community initiatives contribute to a larger wave of positive change.

“This mission requires the active participation of all community members. It’s our collective effort that will shape a stronger, more compassionate nation,” he added.

Lagos State Leader for Good Deeds Day and Executive Director of Do Good Charity Initiative, Folakemi Adesina, also shared her heartfelt thoughts:

“What we did today may seem small, but to these children, it’s a moment of joy and a reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved. That’s the power of doing good — it meets people where they are and lifts them up.”

From storytelling and hygiene education to laughter-filled moments and volunteer engagement, the atmosphere radiated hope, love, and the spirit of service.

The day kicked off with bright smiles and cheerful energy as volunteers served a simple breakfast of bread, biscuits, and tea to 150 children in the community.

Though modest, the meal brought comfort, joy, and a sense of togetherness.

As part of the global celebration now marked in over 115 countries, the Lagos outreach stood as a powerful reminder that we each have a role to play in making our communities stronger, more united, and full of good deeds.
