Opportunity Description
The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) calls on local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and grassroots initiatives to join the GLFx network as local chapters. The selected organizations can access various opportunities and resources to support sustainable landscapes worldwide by entering the network. The program’s specific focus is on the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
What is GLFx?
Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is an international network of local grassroots initiatives and NGOs called “chapters.” These chapters are working to accelerate action toward more sustainable and integrated landscape management. GLFx empowers community members with knowledge, connections, and technology to connect, share, learn, and operate online and in person.

Benefits and Expectations
Upon selection, the organizations will become GLFx chapter network members and receive opportunities for:
- Peer-to-peer learning and networking through the GLFx community and Charter Members
- Get regional and international spotlighting, outreach support, and storytelling opportunities via the GLF’s events and platforms.
- Tailored learning programs, capacity development, and connection with scientific experts
- Internal proposals will have access to funding and other fundraising opportunities.
- Eligibility Criteria
- Applications from registered local NGOs, networks, and grassroots initiatives that meet the following criteria are welcome:
- NGOs and enterprises should be in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia-Pacific
- Led and represented by people who are from the geographic area of the organization’s work
- Promote on-the-ground local activities to share, connect, learn, and act for more sustainable landscapes
- Should be well organized and have an administrative structure to receive and manage funds
- Preference goes to working toward sustainable agriculture
- Especial encouragement will go to applications from groups that:
- Experienced in mobilizing actors to facilitate local action
- Have a strong commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and restoration
- Have partnerships and dialogues with other stakeholders in the landscape
- Consideration goes to gender balance during the selection process.
- Expectations from Chapters
- Organizations that become a GLFx chapter will be expected to:
- Assign a focal point to liaison with the GLF
- Attend meetings with the GLF team and fellows’ branches regularly
- Engage with regular opportunities from the GLF team
- Make an online space on the GLFx platform to share activities and opportunities
- Periodically update the GLF about on-the-ground activities
