The Alimosho Day Organizing Committee has announced the lineup of activities planned for Alimosho Day 2024 holding from August 12th to August 24th, 2024.
The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Organizing Young Achievers for Tomorrow’s Opportunities (OYATO)”.
The momentous community celebration is annual event which usually showcases an array of activities designed to empower youth, showcase talent, promote health, and celebrate the vibrant cultural heritage of Alimosho.
The Alimosho Day celebration under the leadership of Baale of Alimosho, High Chief Jamiu Babalola Ogunwale, will offer a rich parade of events that highlight the community’s spirit and resilience.
“We are honoured to host Alimosho Day 2024, a testament to our community’s resilience and unity. The diverse lineup of events highlights our commitment to nurturing talent, promoting wellness, and celebrating our shared cultural identity,” the Baale remarked.
The commemorative events marking Alimosho Day 2024 include Youth Empowerment Trainings with workshops in digital marketing, Talent Hunt, Medical Outreach, and Symposium under the theme, ‘‘Empowering the Upcoming Generation with Required Technical Training in The Global Market.’’
The grand finale on August 24th will culminate in an evening of celebration with certificate presentations, awards, a book launch, and cultural performances showcasing Alimosho’s rich diversity.
Among the notable leaders in Lagos expected to grace the occasion are His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; His Excellency, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat; The Honourable Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; H.E. Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire OFR, The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals; SEN. Idiat Oluranti Adebule (PhD), Senator representing Lagos West; Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Senator representing Ogun West; Mr. Adewale Sonaike, Deputy Managing Director of Business Development and International Business at Courteville Business Solutions Plc; Folake Soetan, Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric Plc; and respected traditional rulers, His Royal Majesty Oba Hammed Arẹmu Adeyemi, Elegbeda of Egbeda, and His Royal Majesty Ọbà Lasisi Gbadebo Gbadamosi, Oba Onigando of Igando.
The Akeweje of Alimosho, Chief Jamiu Shotayo Tadeyo noted: “Alimosho, the largest local government in Nigeria and Lagos State, is a vibrant hub of cultural diversity and youthful energy. With a population of 1,319,571 in the 2006 census, it boasts an impressive youthful population cutting across all major Nigerian tribes. Against this backdrop, Alimosho Day serves as a testament to our community’s strength, resilience, and vibrancy.”
