ACT set to emphasize role of corporate trustees in Nigeria’s digital financial ecosystem

The Association of Corporate Trustees (ACT) is set to host its 2025 Annual Business Luncheon on Friday, July 4, 2025, at The Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Themed “Innovating Trust – The Role of Corporate Trustees in a Digital Financial Ecosystem”, this year’s edition will focus on how technology is reshaping the future of trusteeship in Nigeria.

The event will bring together key players from the capital market, legal, tech, and regulatory communities to explore the evolving responsibilities of Corporate Trustees in a digital-first financial environment.

Speaking on the importance of the event, President of ACT, Mrs. Omolola Iyinolakan stated: “The digital transformation sweeping through the financial industry requires trustees to embrace innovation while upholding their core fiduciary responsibilities. This luncheon is a timely platform for stakeholders to align on the future of trust services in Nigeria.”

The luncheon will feature the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Dr. Emomotimi Agama, as the Special Guest of Honour, alongside the CEO of Zest Payment Limited, Mr. Stanley Jacobs who will deliver the keynote address, amongst all other panelists.

The panel discussions will cover themes on fintech-regulatory collaboration, digital risk oversight, trust governance, and data-driven compliance, with contributions from seasoned professionals and subject-matter experts across industries.

The Chairman, Planning Committee, of the ANnual Business Luncheon Mr Taiwo Oguntimehin emphasised the strategic relevance of the event noting:

“As digital infrastructure continues to influence how capital is raised, assets are managed, and obligations are enforced, Corporate Trustees must evolve to remain credible intermediaries and effective risk mitigators.”

Attendees will also benefit from exclusive networking opportunities and access to cutting-edge thought leadership from regulators, innovators, and institutional players in the Nigerian financial ecosystem.

Registration for the event is now open and can be completed via https://bit.ly/ACT2025ABL.

The ACT Business Luncheon remains a cornerstone event for promoting knowledge sharing, strengthening industry relationships, and reinforcing the critical role of Corporate Trustees in sustaining market confidence and economic resilience.
